Sharepoint keeps asking for Username and Password

Surprisingly I have been continuosly asked for my username and password to login into my SharePoint Site.  This is the case ever since I changed my password yesterday. Before changing the password I never has this problem of  login prompt for three times and then you will get a page saying “You are not authorised to view this page”.

Since we have been using  integrated Windows Authentication for our SharePoint intranet sites, there should not be a need for the users to enter their credentials again and again. This is very frustrating.

I did a detailed analysis of whatz happening with my credentials. Every half an hour the AD account gets locked out and cannot get to the SharePoint site. The whole issue started the moment the password was changed.
